There are always going to be people who you will come across in your journey through life and vice versa. These include your family, friends, school mates, workmates etc.The question is, what indelible marks do you leave or deposit in these lives that you encounter? It is insightful to go to scriptures to identify who you truly are and allow the time tested word of inspiration guide and direct you as to how to impact these lives who in most cases yearn to see a reflection of your God demonstrated in you. In Matthew 5: 13-16 AMP version, you are described as the light of Christ to the world and especially to your own personal sphere of influence. You are described as the salt (preservative) of the earth. It presupposes from these descriptions that, you have an important role to be an example of all the values and character of Christ and to act as a preservative in preserving these values and ethos of the Christian faith. Reflecting on the perception that members of your sphere of influence have about you will help you align your character to that of Christ if it is not already so. It is always important to ask the question, what will Jesus do in any situation that is presented to me? Can those around you continually see, love, joy, kindness, gentleness, self-control, faithfulness, patience, goodness etc (Galatians 5:22) being exhibited in abundance in your journey through life? Let our prayer be ” Lord teach me to walk in your giant footsteps. I am not worthy, but I am prepared to exhibit you to the best of my abilities as you show and teach me through your word. Let everyday bring someone within my sphere of influence closer to you as they see a reflection of you in my actions and utterances”. Amen
