Casting our burden: A simple approach to rebuilding a healthy lifestyle

One of the key variables in improving our health outcomes is managing our body weight. For those who are saddled with or are on the verge of having chronic ailments such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol etc, key advice from your health professional, will be, to have a strategy to reduce your weight, thereby reducing the pressure on your vital organs, such as your heart, pancreas, etc for normal and improved functionality.
In the same way, living especially in a very complex and dynamic world brings very weighty social matters that tend to invariably increase with the passage of time. Matters of the mind have the tendency to put undue pressure and weight on the mind leading to increased stress and anxiety which manifests in poor physical, mental and spiritual health outcomes.
A simplistic approach to sustaining a high quality of life over a long period of time, is to deconstruct the complexities that we find our selves in relating to our social world through rebuilding simple building blocks such as love, kindness, gentleness, happiness, empathy, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, understanding, humility, contentment, simplicity and the likes. On the platform of these pillars lies the ultimate, peace of mind within your self and within your sphere of influence.(Philippians 4:7 ESV)”And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Peace provides the medium for you to navigate the deep uncertainties and challenges the world brings on a daily basis.

The good Lord in His words, offers us a simple prayer in Matthew 11:28-29 and Psalm 55:22
Dear Lord, help me to come to You, even as I labor and I am heavy laden, so that you will give me rest. Let me take your yoke upon me that I will learn from You, for you are gentle and lowly in heart, and I will find rest for my weary soul and above all help me to cast my burden upon You and You will sustain me. You will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Amen.
